PHASE ONE
Born in Kansas City, Mo on Oct 21, 1987, Britney Savage was destined to be musically inclined. Her father was a DJ for local parties and her mother was involved in anything and everything that had to do with music. She had two older brothers who shared the same love and passion for music. They were closer than ever. Everything seemed great in the Savage family. Little did anyone know, Tina and Reggie were experiencing a very rocky marriage. There were many attempts to salvage the relationship for the sake of the children, but they turned out to be very ineffective. Even though she was only about 3 or 4, Britney still remembers her parents' divorce. For a few years she channelled all her energy into art. And was always known to be the child who'd bring home paintings and macaroni pictures to hang on the refirgerator. Occasionally you could catch the Savage kids dancing and entertaining family members at different functions. There was even a time when they would perform in grocery stores just for fun. For the most part, she had a happy childhood. That's until her mother informed her that she would be moving to Arizona. She was forced to leave all her friends and family in KC.
PHASE TWO
She made the best of the situation by quickly making friends and getting involved in every school activity possible. Around the age of 9, she discovered she had a talent for writing songs. Never really experiencing boys, she wrote her first song entitled, "let me be your girlfriend," in 1996. Around this time, she started telling people that she wanted to grow up to be the only doctor who got paid for singing and operating. She hummed little melodies almost everywhere she went. Her mother, Tina, quicly picked up on this talent and began encouraging her to pursue her dream. She noticed her oldest son, Reggie, had an amazing gift also. (Singing) And pretty soon, the middle child, Ronnie, joined in on the family music train. The next year Britney recieved her very first video camera for christmas. With this camera, she videotaped many performances. Starting with her brothers singing, to her and her firends just dancing being goofy, to her singing herself.
PHASE THREE
A few years after this, a young new rap artist influenced Britney to give rapping a shot. Yes, who you're thinking of is correct! It was then named, Lil Bow Wow, who inspired the young and easily persuaded Britney to switch gears from singing to rapping. In the summer of 1998 she formed a group called B-TRU with her then best friend Tiffany. By that winter, they had already accumulated enough songs to make 2 albums. Everyday, a new song was written. Britney and Tiffany saw it as there were so many things in life that could be rapped about. Every situation, was motivation to write something new. The group saw many members come and go. And faced the threat of breaking up. In the end, the two original members, stayed together and continued with their plan to become famous rap artists. But without the knowledge and resources it took to start recording their material, they made the ultimate decision to put their music on hold. This left the then, excited and hopeful Britney, now, upset and discouraged. Nevertheless she continued writing songs to add to her large collection.
PHASE FOUR
It wasn't until She entered the seventh grade that music seemed like an escape. Her mother had moved the family from central Phoenix where they had gotten all too comfortable, to the Suburbs of Avondale. This was unfamiliar territory for the Savages. They knew no one in the schools they'd be attending, and had lost contact with most of their old friends. Back then, from 83rd Ave. to 120th Ave. seemed like a far ways. This hit Britney the hardest. For her, it was the second time she felt like she had to start from scratch. Tiffany had started high school and soon their friendship started to fade. Britney spent her first weeks of school alone. But she didn't mind, because she wrote. Eventually, she made friends. She met a talented young lady like herself by the name of Ralaina. They spent almost everyday together sharing different life experiences and sympathising with eachother. Ralaina's family had just moved also. So B wasn't the only one new to the environment. They discovered they both loved music. And that was the beginning of a new group. (New Fashion )It was named after an already established group that her brother Ronnie and his friends belonged to. They added Mizzes to the name to let people know it was all ladies. By the eighth grade they'd added a new member by the name of Ashley. And the three of them decided to convince the school's music teacher, Mrs. Wahl, that there should be an R&B/Rap group to represent the school. Suprisingly, she went for it. So the New Fashion Mizzes gathered up three more girls to create a supergroup which was agreed to be called 6 ways. They performed at many school events like talent shows, choir concerts, open houses, and even district concerts. They were once the only original group invited to perform at the well known Cricket Pavillion. There they sang "Survivor" by Destiny's Child. They were also chosen to do the farewell performance for the Canyon Breeze Junior High Class of 2002. The 3 songs they did were written and produced by Britney. Following this, they were also asked to sing at the 8th grade promotion. The group had their hopes up when they were told there was a possibility that a very important person in the music industry wanted to see their talent. Soon enough they came to find out they were given false information. They were crushed. And once again, Britney felt as though nothin was coming of her music.
PHASE FIVE
She put everything on hold for High School. And although she did nothing major to pursue her rap dreams, she still wrote verses every now and then. Her sophomore year, she met Khallee who was a rapper himself. He belonged to a group called Lyrical Union which consisted of Khallee, Grant, and Mark. Khallee kind of stood as Britney's encouragement. She went to him for advice when it came to writing, recording, and producing. He even helped with giving Britney her rap name. They started calling her B-L33. This humble but somewhat cocky lyricist became her alter ego. Britney was known to be loud and very outspoken, But B-L33 was downright arrogant. If you were lucky you'd hear B-L33 entertaining her friends with her latest entry in her rhyme book. She was anxious to finally get in there and begin laying down tracks. In the summer of 2004, she had her first recording session. The studio was a little relaxed spot at Mark's house. LU was so impressed with her booth performance. They found it hard to believe it was her frst time. She knocked out the first verse in one take. Since then, the recording thing came naturally.
PHASE NOW
It is now 2008 and B-L33 is a member of "GenRepublac." Where she is currently working on various songs with her label mates for their 08 mixtape. She's also writing and putting together songs for her long overdue album entitled: "Introducing, LIKE DUH." On this album you'll find tracks produced by The boys in Soul Klappaz Productions. It'll also be featuring the songstress JhuJhu, Dre Boi, Bama, D-Mac, Khallee the lyricist, Niecey, XCLUSIVE, and MORE. Big shout out to the Boss Man, Mr. D. Scott.
