At the age of 18 African- Brazillian culture changed my life. Mestre Amen Santos, founder of Ballet Folclorico do Brasil put a choice in front of me based on what he said was natural talent. That choice was give up the "street life" if you want to be a part of this. I now realize this is where my foundation as an artist was born and 16 years later I have a deeper understanding of what he taught me. It is the ability to tap into the creative process that is in all of us and harness it. Then we must decide what we will use that creative power for. In my journey I have become an artist harnessing my power through silversmithing, sculpture, abstact art and performance art. All being born from the Capoeira I learned from mestre Amen Santos.
