Naisa Love

About Me

Naisa Love was raised in a musically influenced home in Washington D.C. Her first exposure to music was when she was just a baby. At the time, her Dad was managing various major acts including Curtis Mayfield. Curtis' keyboardist and friend, who happened to be the late-great Donny Hathaway, would sit her on his knee and teach her how to play songs on his Fender Rhodes. Because her Dad has been a manager for some of the biggest acts in music today, Naisa has always been around "major artists." "It seems weird now that I think about it, but I had people like Curtis Mayfield, Gladys Knight, Patti Labelle, Marvin Gaye, The Ojay's, Donny Hathaway, Elton John, Natalie Cole and so on in my house from time to time and at that time, it didn't seem like a big deal. Now as I reflect on it, there was some really huge musical history thing happening there." Naisa taught herself how to read music and play seven different instruments - keyboards, bass, lead guitar, violin, flute and of course, percussion and drums. Naisa has gone on to play and tour with some of the biggest artists in the industry, Salt-n-Pepa, The Brothers Johnson, Phil Upchurch, Justin Timberlake, and Janet Jackson. Amongst Naisa's many musical talents, she has written, arranged, produced, engineered, and mixed all of her own songs, composed and arranged music for various film/TV projects and several other major artists.I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
