Chicago-born Jeff Libman is a jazz guitarist, composer, arranger, and educator. As a Faculty Associate in the Arizona State University, Libman teaches private guitar lessons and coaches a jazz combo. Libman also worked as an adjunct faculty member at Scottsdale Community College, Phoenix College, and Chandler Gilbert Community College, teaching jazz history, rock & roll history, and private guitar lessons.Libman studied jazz guitar with Fareed Haque and Doug Wamble while receiving his Bachelor of Music Education degree from Northwestern University. He received his Master of Music Education degree from Arizona State University, where he was the Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Jazz Studies department. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Music Education degree at Arizona State University.As a jazz guitarist, Libman performs frequently in the Phoenix metropolitan area, and has performed with musicians such as Michael Kocour, Mario Mendivil, Dom Moio, Rachel Eckroth, Chris Champion, Bill Moio, Jeff Gutierrez, Justin Brotman, John Chapman, Shaun Lowecki, David Young, Frank Parker, and Sachal Vasandani. He is a member of the adventurous instrumental quartet Moseyhorse. Libman’s music has been performed at Jazz Showcase (Chicago), Zinc Bar (New York), Tin Angel (Philadelphia), Twins Jazz (Washington D.C.), the Banff Music Festival, and the Phoenix Jazz and Blues Festival.Libman recently released his debut CD, entitled Not Even The Rain, which features Michael Kocour on Hammond Organ and Shaun Lowecki on drums.
