Aiming to break the mold that rock music has settled into, Inprism has long worked at forging a musical experience that reminds its listeners that a rock song need not evoke thoughts of doom and gloom to be deep and grab attention. Blending the movement of a good beat with the delicate sound of a guitar, Inprism will conjure feelings of both classic and new age rock into its listeners, showering the scene with originality. All the while the music plays, the lyrics dance in a twisted harmony of common-sense and well thought out meanings that aim to make the audience ponder, realize, and eventually cope with what they’re hearing. Inprism is here - altering minds, raising the bar, and of course - proving that rock is far from dead and still kicking ass.
HISTORY (For those who care):
Inprism can trace its earliest roots back to 1998, when Randy Dowden invited Jeremy Gilbert to come play keyboards in the band he was playing in. Though it did not last long, Randy and Jeremy rejoined in 2000 and began to write music. They met Andrew Lowe in 2001, and he joined the band full time in 2004. Overall responses to Inprism usually began with confusion and ended with extreme satisfaction.
Inprism never really formed a solid band until 2003, when Randy and Jeremy, in their garage, began working on music with Brian Cozart (bass), and Tom Calvert (drums). With Jennifer Chavez, who was wanting to manage bands, they got some gigs (including a Battle of the Bands, their first gig, which they won), with Andrew acting as technical engineer and producer; though eventually, with the departure of Tom and Brian, Andrew took on bass responsibilities. Matt Hopkins replaced Tom on the drums, and with the addition of Pocampo (George Chapin) on the lead guitar, Inprism was finally set to break into the scene again.
Inevitably it came to a stop with the departures of Andrew, Pocampo, and later, Matt, after a sudden collision of personal issues. Inprism was completely suspended, except for one event, which they all reunited to perform; an "audition" of sorts for representatives from MCA Records. The audition went extremely well, and the review was heavily positive, though the band did not continue at that time.
Randy, Jeremy, and Andrew reunited in 2006 after many months of terminal boredom and creative refueling (interpret that as you wish), with the addition of new drummer Scuba Steve Rushing. They played for nine months before Scuba Steve's departure and now pursuing more recording-based projects. Stay tuned for the next wave of Inprism.
