About Me

:. Ahhhhhh...Sparrow Fucking Saturday, eh?
It was the summer of 1999. In between community college courses, working shitty retail jobs, and general early-to-mid-20's mayhem...Bobbi and Jay Row collaborated together for a quick n' dirty side project deemed Sparrow Saturday. Bobbi set the drumsticks down for a while and took over lead vox and guitar duties, while Jay Row worked his strange, genius magic on drums, bass (2nd instrument), and recording hocus-pocus (quite possibly his 7,558th instrument). Oh, and keys, too. Jay Row handled keys. While Bobbi plucked away at the guitar and wrote, wrote, wrote.
We had a really shitty sound card back then.
And I think CakeWalk was used. Now ProTools rules the Earth...but remember, boys and girls...this was in archaic times. Quite possibly before the dawn of time.
Seemed like it back then, anyhow. The only decent popular rock band that was starting to save the day was Buckcherry after a 3-year slumber of pure shit...
This project is basically two kids who love good songs, hooks, psychedelia, rock n' roll, jazz, butt-rock, power-pop, fusion, musicianship...
Basically just not giving a flying fuck.
Hope you all enjoy hearing a different side of me.
These songs were all written between the ages of 14 and 19...with that being said, I cannot wait to do more.

Sounds Like:
Big Star slapped Butch Walker's upside the head and invited the Bangles over for drinks n' smokes at Chick Corea's house.
They also slapped all the pretentiousness out of Radiohead, Sean Lennon and Fiona Apple and drunk-dialed them at 3am.
They all joined the party, too.

Some more background...

Contrary to what I usually like to do in recording situations...none of these songs were recorded live. So you'd think it'd sound better, right? Ha. These tunes were all recorded in a tiny, crowded be...
