In 2003 Jacob Art Works was awarded third prize in St. Catherine's Home Coming Foundation Art competition, competing with other top aspiring artists. A year later "Jacob" won the competition receiving the Presidential Cup.Jacob Art Works has been credited and requested by prominent recording artists throughout the island. Jacob has done personal portraits for artists such as Warrior King, Sizzla Kalonji, Junior Kelly and Luciano just to name a few. Jacob Art Works has also been entered and well received in Art galleries abroad.Growing up in Spanish Town Jamaica surrounded by extreme political elements, police brutality, poverty, violence, it was the love of art that has kept Jacob from the cycle of deprivation. A determination likened to the account of Jacob and the angel in the bible (Genesis 32:26). Reflected in the art works, the unapologetic, assiduous nature of Jacob, "holding on" for what's right and true, illustrating biblical events and issues through the art.
