About Me

It all started with a shoebox and rubber bands....
Born the son of an electronics industry father, Bobby D was exposed to the wonders of computers and electronics at an early age. His parents noticed a certain musical bent when they discovered the young child placing rubber bands on a shoebox in tonal order. Soon the budding musician received a guitar for his birthday.
During the early days of his youth, Bobby often accompanied his father to work, marveling at the rooms full of mainframe computers at Control Data. He and his father were electronics hobbyists as well, building a digitally controlled television with remote control in 1976.
Bobby's other projects include the ambient electronic guitar project LVX Nova, and he also performs live as a singer/songwriter playing an ancient 1929 National Duolian guitar through too many effects pedals.
Please contact stargarden if you are a radio or press person, and would like more info/tracks/etc. And please feel free to say hello if you have been a listener over the years!
If there are any other stargarden tracks that any of you would like me to post -- please let me know, and i will rotate some of the other tracks onto here for your listening and posting pleasure. Check the links below, simply click on an album title and you will be magically transported to that album where you can listen to the entire thing for free or (hopefully) purchase a copy :-)
If you like this music, please consider buying a CD or two to help the process continue. The quest for ambient beauty continues.....
Stargarden Albums:
"Stargarden I -- BUY/LISTEN Ambient Excursions " - 1999
This is the "classic" stargarden release, featuring very ambient and lush tracks with a distinct Aphex Twin "SAW II" feel. Shining digital synths mate with lush, warm analogs to create this album. Recorded with all analog synths, digitals synths, and Atari ST running Cubase 2.0.
"Stargarden II -- BUY/LISTEN The Art of Analog Diversion " - 2000
This is the second stargarden release, and this one is a little more uptempo and experimental than "Ambient Excursions". Spoken word samples, crusty old drum machines, and faithful analog and digital synths are featured here. Recorded with all analog synths, digitals synths, and Atari ST running Cubase 2.0.
"Stargarden III -- BUY/LISTEN Step Off " - 2002
This is the third stargarden CD. This one was composed entirely as a step-sequenced project -- meaning no keyboards or computers were used in the making of this album. The music hearkens back to a more "Berlin School" style of electronica, with obvious nods to the step-sequencing kings Tangerine Dream. A bit darker than the other stargarden releases, but still quite engaging and lush as always. A must hear project for old school electronic music fans!
"Stargarden IV -- BUY/LISTEN Music For Modern Listening " - 2005
"Music For Modern Listening" is a bit of a departure from the earlier Stargarden albums, in that the new music is a bit more melodic, shorter in length, and concise. Yet, the album still has the Stargarden ambient sound that runs through the three previous works.
Stargarden "FIVE" -- BUY/LISTEN to STARGARDEN FIVE 2009
This is the new album from stargarden, recorded during Hurricane Ernesto in Key West. Quite possibly the ONLY ambient album ever composed and recorded in the middle of a hurricane. This album is the eye of the storm in ambient music form, and has been hailed as the best stargarden album since "Ambient Excusrions"!
