About Me

It is not easy to stay motivated and train hard. Some times we feel strong and then there are those times where we just want to kick-back, eat, and watch T.V. We need something or someone to wake us up to get us going. Motivation is especially important for those times. Here are the 10 commandments for fitness success to help you along: 1) Take Resposibility. Take responsibility for becoming a "student" of your success in fitness. Think logically about your training AND your nutrition. The best experience is your own experience. You will know your body and you will know what your body needs at just the right moment. 2) DREAM BIG! Believe that getting into the best shape of your life is possible, regardless of your age. 3) Invest in the Fitness Lifestyle. Go to the Health Spa and enjoy massages, relaxation therapy like Yoga, and get your heart-rate going with kick-boxing classes or spinning, step-aerobics, or whatever aerobic activities appeal to you. Have fun! 4) For the best results: TOSS THE SCALE! It doesnt matter how much you weigh, what matters is how much you look like you weigh. Let the mirror be your guide. 5) Drink more water. Try to drink 8-10 glasses of pure water daily. 6) Become a "morning-person". You will burn 2-3 times more fat first thing in the morning on an empty stomach than any other time of the day. 7) Think H.I.T. (High Intensity Training) Stick to the basics. Use compound exercises to burn the most fat. Make sure to have a variety of exercises so that your visits to the gym will always be exciting. "Compound exercises" are exercises that use more than one muscle at a time. They utilize groups of muscle in synergy for a better overall effect. 8)Have faith and be patient. More is NOT better, BETTER is better! Intensity and Duration are NOT the same. Have an intense workout and then GET OUT of the gym. Limit yourself to three trips to the gym per week. Try to workout on NON-consecutive days for better recovery. You must guard against over-training. 9)Eat small meals every 2-3 hours. 10) Avoid high sodium foods. Avoid "fast-foods" try to eat more clean foods high in protein, and fiber, but low in fat. Eat chicken breast, fish, green vegetables and salads. Oatmeal is a great way to start the day. One of the toughest things about working out is just getting started. I personally felt great from the very first time I worked out. I loved how my body was changing. I had to learn from my mistakes, but it was worth the wait. I was always over-training. I was doing so many exercises and I was tearing up the muscle instead of helping it to grow. I was not resting enough. When I finally stood back and looked at myself after all the hard work, I decided to compete. In my very first competition I placed second in the Slovakian Championships. This was a great motivator for me to compete the next year. I wanted to win, and I did. Dont get me wrong, it was not easy. I did not have my own "personal trainer" which is so popular today. I did not have a sponsor and I was stuck with all the financial responsibilities of suits, makeup, tanning agents, supplements, travel, etc. It was expensive. It was all worth it to me because I was doing something with my life. I was responsible for my decision to compete and I wanted more. We are all faced with daily decisions. We must learn to make those important decisions accurately when it involves success, happiness, and the learning experience. My work personally paid off by way of my success as a Professional Fitness Competitor. If you face that moment of confusion when you don't seem to know what to do next, just stop and think about what YOU want. Don't compare yourself to anyone else. Go to the gym and make a lifestyle commitment. Dont ever quit. Remember this: "What the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve!"I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
