Mikee T

Mikee T sings and plays the guitar. He has performed in front of crowds ranging from 5 to 20,000 with groups like The String Cheese Incident, Fred Wesley(The James Brown Band), Charlie Hunter, DJ Logic, Maceo Parker, The Motet, and many more. Growing up in NJ, he played the drums first. Mikee attended The William Paterson College of Music. As a Music Business Major, started a group called The 42 Main Street Delicatessen Band, a ten-piece funk ensemble. After two years of gigging the North East, Mikee moved to Boulder, Colorado. Reconnected with NJ friends Steve Vidaic and Joe Russo. Through them met a ton of Boulder musicians. In Boulder, numerous House parties, bars, jam sessions, restaurants you name it were the gigs to be had. After a few years of house gigs and many different bands, Mikee joined a group called The Motet. His tenure with The Motet spanned four years. He played guitar, did the posters, website, mailing list, some PR, pretty much everything you do for a grass-roots musical group. This experience definitely concreted his passion for music and travel. Plus, Mikee met his wife Darla along the way at a destined encounter in Victor, Idaho. The two bought land near Crestone, Colorado in 2002. They wanted to attempt a more sustainable life style than what they were living. So, the couple moved on to their land in 2003. In 2004, started building with locally harvested materials and were married. In 2005, conceived a child, still building, and Mikee made a record of original music and took a band on the road. 'Katrina' Hit, stopped touring. In 2006, "Kinsman!" was born. November of 2006 they moved into their off-the-grid geodesic dome home on 15 acres on Cottonwood Creek. In 2008, the whole gang moved back to the front range. Now Mikee is performing again with a number of groups including but not limited to: The Motet, Salem, The Peaceful Warriors, Mountain Jam, Diamonds Are Forever, & many more plus teaching privately.
