About Me

Where has the political impetus gone from our popular music? Since the heyday of TwoTone and the largesse of The Levellers, people have simply stopped caring. We've been cosseted by the Tories, we've been swindled by New Labour, we've maxxed up our mortgages & credit cards, and we've softened our heads on more and more cheap and freely available drink, skunk and Class A's. We're too much in debt, we're too stoned and worst of all we're too damn scared to rebel. Don't worship false (Pop) Idols, don't imprison your musical taste with Liberty X, choose REAL life, choose REAL music, find some space for Movic - for all our sakes...I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4

Band Members: Movic is an ever expanding & contracting collective. For some of the members, it's number one band. For some of us, it's number two, three or four. These guys are the core:Ben & Jim write the tunes ||||||| Jim Gaffney - Bass, Bleepy Keys ||||||| Ben Rodway - Git, Vox, waka waka keys, Hammond & Rhodes, Ableton ||||||| Beth expresses herself Vocally ||||||| Jesse Rowland - Bass ||||||| Joel Finch - Vox, Guitar, Trombone ||||||| Dunc Burnz - drumz ||||||| Fuzz Townsend - drums, percussive maintenance, knobs, twiddles, production
Influences: Can we be different? Can we be politically motivated without being dull? Can you dance to it? The answer, our friends, is an emphatic "YES!"Movic aims to bring you the right-between-the-eyes motivation of The Selecter, the astute awareness of The Specials, the phat-one-bass-shake of Sly & Robbie and the gurning hands-in-the-air of Black Box.Listen.Watch.We'll take you there.
