Originating from the hills of St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, the musical Blessed BARAK has given his life and music to the expression and progression of Pan African values and ideologies. He combines present day hard hitting realities with a substantial message, to inspire, as well as entertain many age groups. Blessed BARAK was raised in Jamaica and started to chant from the age of twelve. In later years he thought himself to play the guitar and became proficient in song writing. Now he writes and co-produces most of his own music. The word ‘Barak’ in the Hebrew language, means “Blessed” . This name, he said was given to him by some warriors in the streets that that simply took favor to him and his music, “… warriors pon the endz see di way I trod, and start call I ‘bless-ed’… and since english is historically a new language; after a while I start use more older languages to say I name… Barak, Beruk, Kibwi, Pambola, djuumo… and more languages give even more vibes…. A jus ‘bless-ed’ ina any language.”Blessed BARAK does not seem to seeking a place in the music industry, “...I seeking knowledge of self and the expression of that in whatever I do... If the music ‘industry’ was run by Ras Tafari or Pan Africa, then I would seek and have a place there... I pon a different mission; a jus’ Lions Den Fam, ‘Music with a message’ a supply some nourishment fi di children, the wise and the lost Kushite.” He has performed at various venues in the UK and at major Pan African events. He says, “... Performance, no... I don’t come to perform just deliver the message… I jus do I ting… if yu see I - yu see I… yu know… BARAK passing in righteousness… I represent Haile Selassie I, CONGO-NYAH family and the nation!”The forth coming debut album 'IGHTEOUS FLOW' can be seen as music of substance, and is blessed with consciousness and reality throughout. He seems a humble father, who sings music that is real and relevant in his eyes. BARAK says, “I am a humble servant of His Majesty Haile Selassie I. Trodding thru, glorifying the MOST HIGH wid Chanting from I highest thoughts each time. I play di guitar and so I have a blessing of acoustic vibes recorded and in I Zion... to unleash in the right time.” His Hip-Hop flavors on the album comes from his many works with Coldworld Entertianment and Lions Den Fam Uniting to produce an album that could be rooted in culture and values, yet current. Most importantly; carrying a positive message at all times. This is what gives Blessed BARAK a full flavored catalogue of music that is empowering, energetic and enlightening.
