The Mosaic guitar quartet presents a divers and attractive repertoire, which includes works by contemporary composers as with popular music arrangements from different cultures. In all of the adaptations they use the great number of musical resources characterizing the classical guitar (the quartet’s basic education) added with techniques taken from more popular music styles.Because of the lack of original music available for this kind of formation the search for repertoire often becomes difficult. For that reason the four members of the quartet work on to expand the existing repertoire by: transcribing and arranging works by AnÃbal Troilo (who was Astor Piazzola’s teacher), Egberto Gismonti and others; requesting works from composers such as Toti Soler and Feliu Gasull; and composing original work themselves such as “Irati†by Mario Mas.El cuarteto Mosaic se fundó el año 1992. Presenta un repartorio diverso y atractivo que abarca obras de compositores actuales asà como arreglos de música popular de diversas culturas.
