The Shredder

MORE METAL THAN YOU CAN SMELT...

About Me

Ben Petch (aka The Shredder) plays all the instruments in his recordings.
He has played guitar for 15 years, and drums for 17. Starting off his musical life with a 12 inch keyboard given to him by his mother when he was 9, he veered off onto the trombone at 10 years of age, switching to trumpet at 11. Realising that all his favourite tunes were being played on very distorted guitars and thumping drums, he began bashing the skins aswell when he was 12.
After jamming with a school friend for some time, he decided that the guitarists were having all the fun writing the music, so finally, he realised where his heart laid.
During the 90's, The Shredder worked with numerous musicians on a broad spectrum of the metal genre, including Mournful Congregation (doom), Fear Thyself (melodic grind), Kevin's Starsearch (punk metal), The Hippy Kill Team (Rollins style metal) and the Loose Cannons (covers), before Sector 7G was born, and still remains the greatest project ever.
All this diving into the pool of miscellaneous musical instruments and styles didn't leave him unrewarded, as the variety of experience made for a very interesting style of metal song writing........
If you like what you hear on this space, go to

and write a few nice words about the music. You never know, it might help the right people notice this metal train and put it on the right track...
