I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Ah - an ageing rocker that loved music and making loud things louder had an idea one day. "How about building a top class rehearsal stage big enough to emulate most of the venues in the North East that a local band could play, and stocking it with proper wedges, a proper desk, a proper sound guy to set it all up, and let bands use it to rehearse?"

"Yes", said his mate, "and what about getting the best quality sound gear we can, and having that there for hire, as well - and maybe a small practice room, that's comfortable, sounds nice, and has really good gear?"

"Yeah", he said "and maybe a studio to record things. We could call it High Fidelity Studios!"

And so, dear friend, High Fidelity Studios was born. Its new home was found, overlooking the river, tree-lined and picturesque, in an area that has no noise restrictions, and thus could be used for twenty four hours a day. The coffee machine was bought, as was the fridge, and the building work started...

.. How would you fancy rehearsing in a 17x8 metre purpose-built room...

With a 7m x 5m stage, backline consisting of:

.. 3x Marshall JCM2000 valve amps (2x heads 1x Combo), all with 4x12 cabs

.. A choice of Mapex Pro M, Mapex M-Birch or Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute Drum kits

.. Line6's very latest offering in modelling Bass Amps - the LowDown 300

.. 4x 300 watt Monitor mixes across front of stage, and a 600W drum fill,

.. Various mics, choose from Sennheiser Evolution series, Shure SM series and Beta series, all running through a top of the range Allen & Heath monitor desk wth individual mixes for each monitor position.

.. Full outboard at monitor desk with a variety of Graphic Eq, Gates, Compressors, FX units, plus playback from either Minidisk, CD or bring along your MP3 player!

All this, plus a fresh pot of filter coffee (and a kettle and tea bags for the tea drinkers) per session, and some lovely sofas to relax on... oh and a free water cooler!

All for a fixed hourly fee.... No add ons, you don't pay extra for wanting more mics, or using the amps... or wanting to DI keyboards or acoustic guitars... How cool is that?!

So, how much??

Weekdays, 10am - 6pm, £15 per hour
Weekdays 6pm - 4am, Weekends, £20 per hour
Stereo Recording (direct to CD) £2.50p/h
Multitracked Recording £10 p/h prebooked

If you wish (and this is one of the few things that's charged extra) we can record your session on multitrack recorder ... up to 24 channels, and bounce to DVD for you to take and mix at home (or we can mix it for you!)

Time is booked, with a minimum of 2 hours, in 2 hour blocks, each session has a 15 minute break included in the price, to allow for set up. During each set up a qualified Monitor Engineer will be on hand to sort out your monitor mixes.

Based in Sunderland we are 5 mins walk from Pallion Metro Station, 4 mins drive from the A19 (at 3 in the morning, granted, but it's not far!), close to the Queen Alexandra Bridge.

Best bit?

We've chosen the site carefully to allow us to have a nice chilled out vista, overlooking the River Wear, and no neighbours, which means......

We can open 24 hours if required!

.. ..Call 0191 565 9554 or 07768 410 511 and ask for Dave, and come and have a look around! ..High Fidelity Studios

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Girls Aloud... aw, c'mon, you know you would!

Mostly bands who appreciate the finer things in life - clean rooms, nice stages, excellent sound, good coffee (free!) big settees and a constructive and pleasant atmosphere to rehearse in.

And Girls Aloud (did I already say that?)
