However, for “The Rep”, a.k.a Brandon Kagel, this quote is a little hard to follow. On Jan. 29, 1981 he made his first appearance on to the stage of “Life” with two featured guests. Plainly put, his mother gave birth to triplets. He came into the world with two sisters while his older brother eagerly awaited their arrival. Normally, this might sound like a great intro to a story that would warm the heart; however, it was only the beginning to a life that would soon take a turn for the worst. His mother burst under the pressure of this sudden adjustment. The reality of four mouths to feed became a haunting thought and after three years she decided to make her exit. Leaving her husband and children behind her, she ventured into a world that would one day lead her to a final separation from her family. She found herself in a relationship with a member of Hell’s Angels, a motorcycle gang in Phx, Az. From abusive relationships to becoming addicted to heroin, it was only a matter of time before the curtains would close, and they did….. At the age of sixteen, Brandon Kagel got a phone call that would change his life. “Your mother committed suicide”, his father said, while clearing his throat. Previously, Brandon Kagel took an early interest in music after hearing Run D.M.C. on the radio. Later, his older brother introduced him to a new wave of rap music that is now known as “Gangster Rap”. He became an avid listener of Eazy-E, Snoop Dog, Dr. Dre, 2-Pac, and Ice cube. He and his brother began to make up rhymes and spit them back and forth to each other. Soon, the hunger for music began to grow. Unfortunately, so did the glamorized life of being a “thug’. He and his brother began to experiment with drugs and illicit sexual encounters with women. And the ball just kept on rolling. Years later, his brother would die in the streets after getting shot multiple times from an argument spurred by his drug addiction. After moving out of a crack house and breaking up with his former rap group, Brandon found himself alone in his studio apartment. He soon met his future wife and mother of his two children, Latoya. Her mother was a deacon at a prestigious church, and she immediately bought him a bible.“I would just smoke weed all night and read it”, he confessed. “I wasn’t trying to ‘find Jesus’, I was just curious of what it said”. Little did he know that what he was opening was not a book, but rather a new chapter of his own life. This was the beginning to the artist we now know as “The Rep”, which stands for The Representative (of God).Since then, “The Rep” released his first project in ..01 titled, Street Prophecy. This album was a collage of thoughts, emotions, and beliefs entangled in a web of society and politics. From the time of its release “The Rep” toured across the U.S. and appeared on T.B.N. on three separate occasions. Not only has he raised the ears of the Gospel industry but he has also captivated the minds of the secular alike. “Proof”, a former member of Eminem’s “D12" contacted “The Rep” in interest of his music prior to his unfortunate murder on April 11, 2006.With his highly anticipated forthcoming album, "SAY NO MORE", his vision is to reach out to a dying generation while opening up a market that has been literally untapped. He plans to flood the message of truth through MTV, BET, and every major entertainment source. Imagine if you will, an artist with the ability to attract every mainstream hip hop listener and at the same time connect with the devoted followers of Gospel music. What you end up with are record high sales and millions of lives changed. Now the only question left is........ Who is willing to share the vision?***************************************************** ************************************************************ *************** MyGen Profile Generator MyGen Profile Generator MyGen Profile Generator MyGen Profile Generatorword color MyGen Profile GeneratorCome see The Rep perform LIVE!!!
