SIRCH

About Me

Having grown up in the musical hotbed that is West Kirby on the windswept Wirral peninsula Chris Green has been addicted to sound from the beginning. A passion for clubbing in nearby Liverpool inevitably lead to DJing. After playing at local parties and outdoor raves (Thors Rock Bop), 2002 saw Sirch obtain his first booking at Element (Zanzibar, Liverpool) promoted by good friend Darka. More gigs followed at various Liverpool D&B nights including Sophonic Sessions @ Zanzibar promoted by NWDNB's Sol. Then in 2003 a shared love of clubbing and DJing prompted Sirch and friends (Stu, Jace, Jon & Jim) to setup and promote their own monthly clubnight. Havaganda @ The Magent, Liverpool ran for 18 successful months and its eclectic music policy gave many upcoming local DJ's the opportunity to play out. Contacts developed with other local promoters lead to more bookings for Sirch and the Havaganda residents at numerous underground nights and events across the city. However all things come to an end and Havaganda was disbanded at the end of 2004 due to the teams various other commitments.
Moving to college in Nottingham the same year saw Chris realise his long term ambition of producing music. DJing would take a back step as he concentrated on his production skills and studies. After completing a 2 year Music Production HND in 2006 he is now finishing his degree doing a 1 year Sonic Arts top-up course. Sirch's music is now close to a level where he feels he can start pushing for a release. His predominently 'liquid' sound combines elements of dub, reggae, jazz, funk and soul with ambient atmospherics, rolling breakbeats, and deep warm bass. Sirch production is however not limited to Drum & Bass and he also experiments in downbeat electronica and nu-skool breaks.
I am always interested in collaborating with like-minded producers, musicians and vocalists, so feel free to contact me through MySpace if you wish to make some beautiful music...
