About Me

Often described as "Schoolhouse Rock meets Monty Python," we are an ensemble of professional actors who take hilarious stories written by kids all over the world and faithfully adapt them into sketches and songs. The stories we collect range from a few words scrawled out by first-graders barely able to spell, to complex mini-novellas typed and illustrated by sixth graders.
THE STRIKING VIKING STORY PIRATES is the fastest growing children's theater company in New York because it appeals equally to kids and adults. Our unique comic style dares to present the world as kids actually view it, unfiltered by the lens of a grown-up. Adults are treated to a riotous view inside the heads of their children, and kids end up feeling like celebrities, because their own stories are the star of the show.
We perform our show once a week - every Saturday at 2pm - at The Drama Book Shop. Each year we tour dozens of elementary schools all over the Tri-State area, creating a personalized experience for each school, adding stories written by that school's own students. Our engaging curriculum based workshops teach kids a love of literacy and the arts, without the kids ever suspecting they are learning. We also offer wonderful birthday parties complete with a story by the birthday kid: We take care of the cake, the ice cream and every other detail you can imagine.
