I am here for Friends

About Me

There is nothing at all unusual about me as a person...except maybe in that I know that I am usual.I graduated May of 2006 from Kentucky Christian University with my degrees in Counseling Psychology and Biblical Studies. I don't really know what I want out of life, I just know that I want something more. I think I am a good person, but that is debatable I suppose. I recently worked at a mental health center as a Children's Case Manager. It was rewarding working with kids, but it was hard...what I had to watch them go through. It brings you to the ground, but enough about that. I have ten siblings, a handful of people that I really love, a plethora of people that I really like, and a few people that I don't really care for at all. I am melodramatic. I like to write poetry and I absolutely love dreaming...more than most people I think. I think I am difficult when it comes to relationships. Probably because I have walls, and because I am always afraid they will end, and also because...well I am just difficult. I used to play trumpet, I wish I played piano, and I am learning to play the guitar. In my heart I will always be a band geek. I am really dorky. I like May birthdays, and dandelions, and summer thunderstorms. I miss friends from the past who probably don't even remember me...from summer camp, and elementary school, people watching and star gazing. I long for brick roads and tree lined streets and lamp posts that make me think of the olden days. I want to be able to blend in to the life and energy of a city, but fall lazily back in to the peace of the country. I want to swim with dolphins, travel the world, go on a Disney Cruise, own a midnight blue toyota corolla, and have a family that is beautiful. I really appreciate so much my faith and my God and what I see Him doing for me in my life. I love that there are people in my life that I long to be with so much that my heart hurts when they are away...that kind of love helps me know that I am alive and that I can feel. I am ordinary.

My Interests

"I want to show you just how fascinating kissing is, when earth collides with all the space between..." ~Blue October, Foiled, Sounds of Pulling Heaven Down

Music:

I like anything that I can sing to...and really just anything. I love the old classics though: Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Tony Bennett. I sing all the time...literally. If Josh Groban and Michael Buble were available to sing to me every day for the rest of my life I would need no one else. Especially Mr. Groban, he is the soundtrack in my head that makes the world ok when the kids I work with aren't. Plus, I saw a picture of him once in big star glasses, like I have, laughing, and I am pretty sure we could be friends. I love Hanson, truly, I think they have a lot to say that can make a difference. Oh and you all have to check out Gran Bel Fisher (in my top friends) He is amazing! And...I know him from the good old days and he is a fantastic person as well an an incredible musician. It'll be worth your time. He was born to make it. Also go listen to Shaun Barrowes (Watch the upcoming season of American Idol for further info on Shaun) I don't know him personally, but he is a delight and that is all you need to know.

Movies:

The Boondock Saints, Lord of the Rings, Donnie Darko, Newsies, Tombstone, Peter Pan, Much Ado About Nothing, Suicide Kings, Anything with Tom Hanks really, I Am Sam, Dirty Dancing, Gidget, Disney Movies (especially The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast), King Kong, Walk the Line (Joaquin Phoenix is my movie star boyfriend), anything done by M. Night Shyamalan. I love movies in general. Never really met one I didn't at least appreciate for what it was.

Television:

I really love CSI the original, Roswell (which is not on anymore), and American Idol. I also like House Hunters and shows like that on HGTV that make me a big dork, but I am quite dorky so it all makes sense. I love X-files, Heroes, Grey's Anatomy, and my favorite shows currently are Numbers and Criminal Minds.

Books:

Oh, I love all kinds of books. My favorites are Where the Red Fern Grows and the Count of Monte Cristo. I like Harry Potter, I really quite enjoy The Lovely Bones. Wicked is fantastic. Anything C.S.Lewis writes is worth the time. Dandelion Wine, Lucky, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, A Ring of Endless Light, Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood, and of course the old favorites that I read yearly Little House on the Prarie and Anne of Green Gables. Then there are my new favorites Eragon and the Eldest. Man I like dragons. I get lost very easily in books. OH...and you have to read the Bartimaeus Trilogy! Amazing! And...my new favorite author is Jasper Fforde. He is seriously incredible...probably the most clever author I have ever read. Check him out...it won't be a waste of time.

Heroes:

I really like Jesus...and my mom...but not in the same way. They are different kinds of heroes really.

My Blog

It's a shame...

I realized something today...I have been broken for a very long time.  I am not broken in the way that God often breaks us to repair us as better.   No...I did the damage, I set th...
