Three years ago three friends came together for a common project to propel the one of them. By incorporating their abilities, powerful music was released, visionary promotion was created and contracts were streamlined. Their commitment to the project was challenged by low funds but the three friends were unfazed by these challenges. They were convinced the project would work, and one year later the CD Timeless was on sale.
WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF !wé PRODUCTIONS
Iwé Productions is a new, innovative company that aims to promote art in all its forms to the best of its ability. Our focus has begun with independent Zimbabwean & South African artists. We aim not to control these artists, but to complement their independence - our intention is to help these artists grow. This aim is realised through the booking of performances within the continent and internationally, placing the artists where their performance is most appreciated. We help the artists produce music videos and record CDs. We design posters, CD covers, construct websites, contracts and complete promotional packs for the artists.
Iwé’s prime focus is on semi-established artists seriously committed to their art who require experienced assistance in pushing their work further, but we also give assistance to new artists in the form of organising mini-festivals and booking performances within the regions we are registered in to bring exposure to these new artists.
So far Iwé has registered in Zimbabwe , and is in the process of registering in South Africa and France . These three countries are where the three founding members of Iwé are based and reside.

CHIWONISO began performing at the age of 11 and by the age of 19 had established herself as a leading artist in Zimbabwe . She is a composer and lyricist who through the years has given her voice to countless projects and recordings whose main focus is the respect of human rights, in particular those of the African people and those of women. She started with being part of the Zimbabwe 's first Afro hip-hop group A Peace of Ebony. Then, in 1998, she won the R. F. I. Discovery Competition in her own capacity and signed a contract with LusAfrica, resulting in her first CD Ancient Voices. Chiwoniso has been fronting her acoustic group Chiwoniso & Vibe Culture for several years.She has done a huge amount of session work through the years, working with artists from around the world in greatly diverse styles.She has recently completed recording for a CD commissioned by the Crisis Coalition of Zimbabwe with other leading Zimbabwean artists whose message is unity and strength amongst the Zimbabwean people. In 2004, Chiwoniso released an acoustic solo CD, Timeless, with her group Vibe Culture and she is currently at work on a new studio album.

From RSA, THE ORIGINAL SOCIAL WORKER who is also known by various names such as THE SHEPHERD, MR. SHUMBA and TEBA 20.5.2.1 DIGITALLY is a Ragga muffin artist whos music career started with a Kwaito Band called Skeem, awarded the FNB Sama Award for Best Township Pop, with their debut hit song Waar Was Jy? in 1997. Tebas unique, Azanian raggamuffin style, captures the hearts of all races and genders universally. His blazing project, called: 20521 Manifesto is full of solid tracks that give hold to his first entry as a solo artist. Tebas genuine style and energy towards music, attracted many well known South African artists, who, though were from a diverse music background, were still interested in working with him. Since the release he has performed in few places like Wurzburg Afrika Festival 2005 with artists like Gentleman,Queen Omega,Rita and Julian Marley.ln Rototom 2006 along side Capleton,Luciano,Morgan Heritage,Toots,Andrew Tosh,Third World,Alpha Blond,Tiken Jah,Groundation,Gladiators,Burning Spear just to mention a few. He also works with community and youth projects to increase awareness about tings and tings... Teba uses music,poetry,theatre and Afrikan & township dance as mediums in his workshops.

Mirtha Guerrero, alias LA MACHETE comes from Peru . Her musical creation takes root in the Afro-Peruvian rhythms from the Pacific Coast of her country and the delicate aesthetics of the “criolla y limeña” tradition. For Mirtha, the eighties are the years when her music became an engagement – A political engagement. Outstanding musical meetings with Andrés Sto, Felix Casaverde and Kiri Escobar followed... In 1989 she leaves Peru for France . Several musicians will take part in the musical adventure that grew rich along with the various collaborations. In 1999, to find and reinvent her way, she chose a machete as a symbol to identify her way of living the music. Used by the black slaves for both work and war, the machete is a survival tool and when she performs, Mirtha shares with us this symbol of freedom through her voice balancing between healthy euphoria and sweet melancholy. With subtlety, she revisits waltzes, marineras, landós and festejos from the afro traditional repertory as well as with her own compositions; polyrhythmic patterns and a stunning mix of melodies in which one hears pop, jazz and voices of the people sharing history and musical roots.

From a young age, BROWNSUGAH (Noble Kanegoni) took a deep interest in music. His earliest inspirations and influence coming from reggae heavy-weights Bob Marley and Bunny Wailer.He travelled to South Africa in 1995. There, he collaborated with artists such as "the original Rapper" Abel from Abashante, Appleseed of the world famous Bongo Muffin and VJ/MC Mischief of Channel "O". BROWNSUGAH spent time developping his skills both on stage and in recording studio as a session artist with South African performers before returning to Zimbabwe in 1996 with the burning desire to start producing music of his own. One of the new young artist in the Zimbabwean music sector, BROWNSUGAH has quickly come to dominate the ragga scene with scintillating rythms and philosophical lyrics that touch at the heart of some of the real situations that the youth of Zimbabwe are dealing with today. Running Laps' is Brownsugah's debut CD that includes guest artists such as Wargames, Chiwoniso, Corruption, Chitta, Marisa ans Lovejones. Appraised by the young generation, Brownsugah is an artist who one should look out for.
