The track 'fling' was written by myself aged 12 and recorded at 14 as part of a school project. As you can guess my voice has matured loads since then...but hey its still a catchy tune!!!The Power of love was put together as a college project, so the backing track and vocals/backing vocals (all performed by myself) were put together from scratch. With thanks to Martin + Sam.'Grace Bower is a rock chick-style blonde bombshell from Scunthorpe, who gave us an excellent choice of material, which included a version of The Undertones seminal hit Teenage Kicks and the little heard Frankie Goes To Hollywood song ,The Power Of Love.As a performer young Bower certainly kicks ass with her energetic, yet attractive style and she put me in mind of some of those great clubland ladies, such as Janie McKenzie and Bernadette Wilde, who both front big bands. Perhaps the band scene could also be the lithe and lissom Miss Bowers most natural working environment.'
The stage - Review of 13th Northan Star Trail (final), Sheffield Grace has been performing since the tender age of 3 when she joined a local ballet school in her hometown of Scunthorpe. After performing in many productions she became at home on the stage, which is now where she spends her most enjoyable time. Karaoke on holiday between the age of 5 and 10 gave her confidence and compliments, so at the age of 11 she joined a singing acadamy in Scunthorpe (also in Mansfield).At the age of 13 she started entering talent shows all over the country. Winning several, Being placed in many and always reaching the final, she saved the prize money to purchase a P.A setup so she could take her performing further. She first began performing a set or two at shared gigs at 14. Her first solo gig was August 2004, just after her 15th birthday, at a holiday camp in Wales. To help further herself she was priveledged to be a part of Natural talent, a group set up to help young people make it into the circuit. She worked with them for two years in Manchester before getting into the local circuit so it isnt so far to travel. These two years helped her perfect her act.Gigs for Grace just get bigger and better, Playing at a big event at the biggest nightclub in Scunthorpe and local 'Picnic in the park' for three years running, host to 10,000 people.Singing hits like: Teenage kicks - The Undertones, Ever fallen in love - The buzzcocks, Left outside alone - Anastatia, One way or another - Blondie, Dont stop me now - Queen, I bet that you look good on the dancefloor - Arctic monkeys, Summer of 69 - Bryan Adams to name but a few, She is a rock chick through and through!After being approached to help form a band for one off charity gig 'BABYFLY' was born.
