Harry Hack And The Big G

About Me

Formed in 1976, Newcastle's first Punk band(to actually get a gig), all old men now but just rediscovered our old recordings. The songs on here are copied from old cassettes(I've now updated three of the songs and the versions are taken from the acetates of the actual single). I have put this site up as a result of my visiting a Punk exhibition at the Discovery museum in Newcastle last week and being prompted by that into contacting the other former band members. We were Newcastle's first punk band that actually played live gigs. Off the top of my head I remember playing Rafters in Manchester and some college in London supporting Penetration. Biggest claim to fame is playing above the bill to a rubbish band from Manchester called Warsaw who went on to become a great band called Joy Division, and standing in for Siouxsie Sioux and The Banshees, supporting Johnny Thunders and The Heartbreakers. This is my first attempt at a myspace thingy and I will try to improve it over the next few days once I learn how to. I am the artist formerly known as Walter Hack , by the way, and am currently living the Rock and roll dream through my son who is in an excellent band called Shitdisco.
