About Me

Druid started raving back in ’89 at Central Park in Portsmouth and was also a regular at Sterns night club in Worthing. He began his DJ journey by watching other DJ’s, making mental notes of the tunes being played. In 1990 he took the plunge and bought some 1210’s and taught himself to mix. After many hours perfecting his craft, the mixes started to fall into place and he was confident enough to do tapes for his mates. These tapes started to do the rounds and he quickly gathered a strong following locally, which led to his first booking in August ’91 for Luke Slater at the Zap Club in Brighton.
Soon afterwards Dave got his first residency at the now legendary South Coast club, Sterns / Interdance, playing week in week out down in the Underground, with the likes of Carl Cox, Fabio, Grooverider, Music maker, Rat Pack and Colin Dale. From there the bookings started to come in from all over with the likes of Fusion, Interdance, Dance Paradise, Dreamscape, Tazzmania, Origin, Helta Skelter, Labyrinth, Slammin’ Vinyl, United Dance and Hyperbolic, all wanting a slice of the action.
After Sterns closed in 93 he became resident at the Rhythm Station in Aldershot where along with MC Sharkey, used to rock the place with the Scottish and Euro bouncy techno vibe.
Having tracks appear on the highly successful Bonkers compilations and regular DJ work both here in the UK and in Toronto, Canada for Hullabaloo, our Old Skool legend was at the top of his game.
In 98 Druid felt the music was losing it’s appeal, with too many dodgy productions and awful chart rip offs! He decided to hang up his headphones for a well deserved break!
Then in 2001 he got a call from Vinylgroover who wanted to book him for an Old Skool set. This gave Druid the bug for playing out again and pretty soon he was DJ’ing at many of the Old Skool nights that were springing up around this time. As the bookings came in he started to get some main room sets for Fusion and HTID and was able to hear the new UK hardcore that was being played. After resisting to follow others by jumping on the bandwagon of playing new Hardcore, Druid got a recommendation from Sharkey to give Alex Stormtrooper a call. The TNC sound was like a modern twist of the 95 party vibe style which Druid loved so much. Since then Dave has clocked up 6 collaborations with TNC resident Stormtrooper and is now a new addition to the TNC crew and can be seen playing his bouncy ravey vibe in a main room near you soon.
