Custom Myspace Profile Design - Here's what you need to know

Let me tell you a story......
It was a while ago when I discovered Myspace.com and I created a new account, I found the technology and the speed at which I could connect to people simply amazing, and it soon became a popular place to reconnect with old friends and even meet new people.
Soon after I was discovering new things to do with my Myspace account and I found out that you could customize your profile so that you weren't stuck with the boring default template, so I went and searched online and found some free templates, they were a lot better than the default but it still wasn't enough, I wanted my profile to be unique and I wanted it to convey my personality to anyone who viewed it.I already knew how to design websites so I set about designing my own unique profile from scratch, I worked at it for a week solid until I got it exactly how I wanted it and people started to notice, I was getting comments from strangers who had added me just to tell me they loved my profile.
I kept getting friend requests and comments purely because my profile stood out from the crowd, the more people that connected with me the more people would see me on their friends contact list and click onto my profile, I was quickly becoming a mini Myspace celebrity and it felt strangely addictive.
With a custom designed profile you can stand out from everyone else, you become the centre of attention and people want to get to know you, this becomes a huge advantage if you have a profile for your business or if you’re in a band and want to get your songs heard potentially by millions of people.
I had noticed that the more character and customized look I give my profile the more people who accepted my friend requests and commented on my profile, it really made sense after a while, the whole point of social networking is to connect to people one on one, you have to convey personality and uniqueness, if you are the same as everyone else then you will get the same treatment, denied friend requests, messages marked as spam, no comments, no profile views.
People do not want to see your advertisement or do not want to add you because you want them to listen to your songs, this is the worst way of trying to build a following on Myspace, if you appear to much like you're trying to sell them something they will simply ignore you, but the good news is that they are willing to connect and build a relationship with you which is needed if your going to try and sell them something or get them to listen to your music.
An example of this is bands who make it big using Myspace, most people think that the reason this happens is because they record the best songs or they have the largest friends list or they have a a huge advertising budget but that's all wrong, the reason why some bands make it big on Myspace is because they put up a profile that makes their fans feel connected to them, which makes their friends pass on their profile to their friends and the cycle continues.
People are open to receiving adverts from their friends because they know, like and trust their friends, the key to Myspace is to come across as a real person and add personality and uniqueness to your profile, so as a way of saying thanks for reading my story here is just one of the ways you can do that, it takes 2 minutes to implement and can make people curious to click onto your profile.
The first time most people will notice you on Myspace is when they see you listed on someone else’s friends list, they will see your default picture and your name, most people do not take full advantage of this type of exposure, they pick a boring name and use a boring photo, instead try to pick a name that includes an aspect of your personality that they can relate to, or make a name that holds some curiosity value, remember the goal here is to get them to click on and visit your profile, so be unique.
