Bobby Drake a.k.a Da Count

About Me

What we have here is one of the hottest rap artist coming out of the mid-west. With Hard hitting punch lines, charismatic flow, an real life tales from the streets. This man is Marvin Wells aka the Count Bobby Drake. Born in Cleveland, OH, Drake was relocated to the streets of Detroit at a young age due to parental issues and hardships involving drugs. Drake was forced to discover life the only way he knows it, the hard way. Being transported in an out of foster homes which brought him from the eastside to the Westside of Detroit, Drake knew he had a long challenging road ahead of himself. “It was a hard cold road for me with a family history of gang related activities, pimps, and heroin addicts. I knew I had to be the one to over come that and better myself.” says Drake. Holding strong to his love for music, Drake took in the game quick and established himself as an artist, giving birth to the man we know today as "The Count Bobby Drake." In pursuing his dream Drake found himself attending school at Central Michigan University where he further molded and crafted his career in the music game by doing various radio appearances and rocking talent shows through out Michigan, and taking part in and winning numerous free-style battles. “No matter what happens you just have to have that faith and go for your dreams through the up's an downs an all, because nobody can make it happen better than yourself” says Bobby keeping his swagger as he spoke. It seems to me this man is determined to show and prove that he has what it takes to hold it down. Taking humble credit, but not in full, Drake started the label "Breeve Ez" which helped in throwing one of the Biggest independent shows in Mt. Pleasant, MI at the Tribal recreational center. They called it "The Hip Hop Idol." Not long after, Drake found himself facing another obstacle, he found himself being arrested on federal drug charges which put a damper on his musical movement but did not stop the man. Soon after his release he connected with one of his fraternity brothers Roc The Prophet and helped create what is known now as "Godstar Ent." Which brought them to opening shows for Detroit artists such as Tone Tone at club Oz in Ann Arbor, MI , Club Med in Detroit, MI , The Purple Moon located in Flint, MI and many more across Michigan. Also receiving club/radio play by such Dj's as Dj Don Q, Dj Trendsetter, and radio play on Detroit’s own 97.9 fm. Drake was and still is on his way from former trapper to for the love of his craft rapper. “I find music to be the source to the solution to the troubles going on around us all, I felt I had to quit college to put food on the plate for my fam and I see with this music I can do a lot such as put food on the table, learn, educate, and express my thoughts and feelings freely with out the worry of jail. With that said Let's Get It!!!!!” If you ask me this man is ready to make things happen with faith in his product and himself this man is aiming to win..
