Greetings! Thanks for checking out the South Florida Underground Music Scene. This page is all about fostering an original music scene in South Florida. If you live and play in a band down here, you know that the live orginal music scene needs some serious help. Well, we hope that through this page we can help support and promote local bands playing orginal music. Feel free to post upcoming shows, submit pictures, audio/video, whatever you would like as long as it helps spread the word that live orginal music is alive and kicking it in South Florida.
Lately, we (Chronic Underground) have been bringing recoding gear out to our shows and recording the night's performances. We began with a show at Club M on November 24, 2006. We hope to capture more and more great local bands doing their live thing at venues across South Florida. We provide a copy of a band's set to the band at no cost (unless rush service is desired). We are not trying to get rich off of this. We just want to help the original music scene. If you are not interested in your recordings, then we will delete them. We are not looking to steal anyone's material, and we will not be selling the sound recordings. You, of course, can do whatever you want with the sound recordings once we turn them over to you. A credit to Chronic Underground Music or Green Fog Studios (located in Miami) is all we ask.
If everyone played cover songs, music would literally die. That's why we think its important for the local bands creating original music to continue what they are doing and make it easier for them to share their music with the world. What we are going to do is post live tracks of various bands on this site, so people can hear what the bands sound like live without studio production. We won't post anyone's music without permission, so you can expect an e-mail or post requesting permission to post one of your songs.
Now, the sound quality is what it is. The shows are recorded with two microphones set up to receive a stereo image of the room and recorded through an M-Box2pro straight to Pro Tools. We are hoping to improve the quality of the recordings, but we are trying to keep the task simple. It doesn't make sense to hall expensive, limiters/preamps/mics out to live shows where they can get damaged. So, if you don't like the sound, come out to an actual show and hear how massive it sounds in person. If you do like the sound of the recordings, come out to a show and hear how much better it sounds in person.

We hope this site helps encourage local original music to thrive in South Florida.
