The Magistrate

The Magistrate, is based in Columbus, Ohio. Each track is tediously worked, layer by layer, in lonely basements and empty dorm rooms. Over the past year, The Magistrate have written and recorded over 30 songs with another half dozen currently in the recording process. The Magistrate cite The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, Elliott Smith and Radiohead as major influences. The intention is to bring intellectualism into their sound, linking classic rock grooves with indie rock sounds. Currently The Magistrate is playing acoustic sets at small venues to continue building a fan base, gaining access to college radio stations, and establishing relationships with local press. In the Fall of 2008, The Magistrate plans to be entertaining crowds in the Columbus, Ohio area and beyond.
