About Me
Wushu is an ancient tradition of the Chinese people, often called Kung Fu, or Chinese martial arts. Its many different styles and techniques are suitable for people of all ages.Wushu is used for fighting, for sport, and as a healthy form of exercise. It is also rich in artistic content. In 1975, Master Mark established the Chinese Wushu Research Institute in Boston’s historic Chinatown. She was the first to use the term Wushu for teaching in the U.S. Twenty years after creating CWRI she founded the Bow Sim Mark Tai Chi Arts Association in 1995. With twenty-three branches in the US, Europe, Hong Kong, and other countries, her goal was to promote Tai Chi as an art. For several decades, Master Mark has concentrated on the areas of teaching, writing, performance and choreography, all in an effort to spread the word of Tai Chi's grace and beauty. She has become a world-renowned, highly respected Wushu artist, and has appeared on the covers of numerous magazines, in newspapers and on television worldwide. Black Belt Magazine called her "One of the most influential masters of the 20th century", and Inside Kung Fu declared her "One of the most influentual masters of the Millenium". She has won tournaments internationally and performed all over the world. She's also written over twenty books on the study of martial arts. All of her great achievements were done with one goal in mind. And that was simply her desire to spread and promote the culture of true Chinese Wushu.
Master Mark’s primary objective is to emphasize the artistic aspect of Tai Chi Chuan. It is her passion to promote Wushu, and especially Tai Chi, as an art and to articulate her dedication to continuously refining this art form. By doing so, we can enhance the elegant nature of the Tai Chi arts and raise its popularity as a way to improve our health and well being. This philosophy is the purpose for which this organization was founded.Visit our site at- www.taichi-arts.com
