About Me

Meet The Sardichs! This is the group from oldest to youngest: Bobby, Stephen, Bill, Margaret, Barbara, Jonathan and Christopher. My family and I have been singing together since we were quite small children. God has blessed us, with the talents of our parents. My late father “Mitch” was a talented drummer who played in a polka band for 17 years. My mom “Mary Ann” had the most beautiful voice and she could sing by means of her whistle with the most beautiful vibrato. At our house, the Magnavox played 45’s practically twenty-four hours a day. Mom would pull out the drums while Pop was at work and we would all take turns learning to play and harmonizing to the songs. The whole neighborhood used to come a dance on the front lawn. We had so much fun! Mom started having us sing in church for special services and occasions and we began to become quite popular. We started appearing as regulars on “The Gene Carroll Show”, a local talent show out of Cleveland, Ohio and recording radio commercials for local businesses. By the time we were young teens we were singing and traveling just about every weekend.Barb, Margaret, Bill & I traveled for a few years with a convention band called “Higher Power” that performed all over the United States and Canada. By the mid 1980’s we were in our third traveling show and appeared (as “Angelfire”) on the Nashville networks’ “You Can Be A Star” with Jim Ed Brown. We were also privileged later that same year to back up Frankie Yankovic (as “Angelfire”) on his “Christmas Memories” album singing “Blue Christmas”. Around that time, several different states were competing for the location where the first “Saturn” manufacturing plant was to be built and each applicant sent a campaign complete with a radio commercial all the way to the “White House!” Imagine how excited we were to find out that the commercial we submitted would represent the entire Mahoning Valley’s campaign submission. Yet another exciting experience presented itself when we performed for Geraldine Ferraro and Maureen Reagan when they came campaigning through Youngstown, Ohio. Two years ago, out the clear blue sky the engineer at “Peppermint Studios” in Youngstown Ohio called us to see if we wanted to do some background vocals for a polka band named “ The Del Sinchak Band.” The engineer at Peppermint; Gary Rhamy, remembered all of the recordings and commercials we used to do at his studio so he gave us a call. We thought it would be fun to record again after so many years. So we said yes and recorded two albums with Del. The second album, “Polka Pizzazz”, was nominated in the polka genre for a Grammy in 2006, where we were featured on the “Just Because Polka”. We didn’t get to go to the Grammy ceremonies, but how many people can say they have been featured on a Grammy nominated album?Well, everyone started asking about the “kids” who sang on the albums and that opened up the opportunity for to create the work you are hearing today. Please enjoy it and let me hear from you! ... Lotsa Love, Bobby ... [email protected]
