Cannibal Massacre

About Me

Cannibal Massacre was formed in January of 1991 when ex-Ataud guitarist Pedro Juan Escribano (R.I.P. "Piwi"), ex-Ataud vocalist Victor de Jesus and drummer Juan Figueroa met at a thrash metal band house party. They found that their musical interests were very similar and decided to form a band. After a few months of writing material and gigging together, vocalist and then bassist Victor decided to pass his bass playing duties to somebody else. Enter ex-Xacrosaint bass player David Martinez in May of the same year. Finally, the band's lineup was completed.
The band went into the studio in February of 1992 to record their classic, never released until now debut CD "INRI" with Jorge Fevres of Shampain fame manning the knobs. The album includes 11 original songs that fall in the death metal/grindcore category of yore. The lyrics deal mostly with world problems, death, the realities of life and socio-political topics.
The band performed live around the island with various local bands such as Undamaged, Golpe Justo, Volcanic, Crypta, Organic Infest, Cadaver, Human Leftovers, Bad Raiser, Xacrosaint, Ataud, Homicide and Nothing Remains just to name a few, developing a huge cult following along the way. Although the band has been inactive since 1993, plans for a reunion show with a new guitar player have been in the works for quite some time now.
