It was our first dinner party together and we had invited a few people we wanted to meet. Bono was there, though he was an hour late. It didn't matter because Jesus was outside in the pool showing the Dalai Lama how to walk on water and that took forever. We ran out of liquor because Faulkner and Millay and their crowd drank us dry and then they had piled into my car and were about to drive to the liquor store when Soderbergh said he'd take them and saved them all from wrapping themselves around a tree. He's such a nice guy. And you had just finished the hors d'oeuvres when Capt. Sensible and Gwen showed up and started a food fight. To hell with them we said and sneaked off and made love beneath the olive tree. Ahh, those were some wild nights...
