Jose; having rabbid bunny sex with jose; people and things that make me think; people who aren't afraid of themselves; beneath the surface interactions; public policy/politics; buying toys for my cats; bowling; singing Madonna songs when I go to karaoke haha; obsessing; helping people; other than sunny weather; off the wall senses of humor; being silly; myspace (betcha never woulda guessed!); mexican things; catholic things; learning about non-mexican and non-catholic things; gaining new points of view; driving around in my silver civic si (with the shifter up on the dash, and yes, i do like it that way--stick is the only way to go); historic architecture/homes/buildings; excessive amounts of sauces and dips
Deep and soulful house DJ's and producers; if you'd like to get your music out to the masses via the PlanetSoul airwaves, send your mix my way. Also, progressive, open minded people who love house music as much as I do!! I'm always up for meeting new people to party to house music with. IF YOU WANT TO ADD ME AND WE DON'T HAVE ANY OBVIOUS COMMON INTEREST (LIKE HOUSE MUSIC), PLEASE SEND ME A MESSAGE FIRST. IF YOU ARE A GUY WITH A BUNCH OF NAKED SLUTTY GIRLS ON YOUR FRIENDS LIST, THAT IS AN AUTOMATIC NO ADD.
Click on the banner above and check out my honey's radio station. Or click here to tune in now. My baby is THE MAN, JOSE I LOVE YOU!!!!! Uh, in case you haven't figured it out by now, house is my music of choice. Not hard or progressive, I'm talkin deep and soulful. I also love deep-tech, disco house, and electro house (like what you hear playing on my profile). I like Jay-J, Lazy Dog and Ben Watt and Jay Hannan solo (Underdog is an amazing mix), Migs, Kaskade, Crazy Penis, Mateo & Matos, Lady D, Andy Caldwell, Jamie Lewis, Francesco Diaz, Roy Davis Jr., Franky Boissy, Glenn Underground, Julius Papp, Kevin Yost, Silicone Soul, Louis Benedetti, Terry Lee Brown, Jr., Inland Knights, Weekender, The Timewriter, Tiefschwarz, Pete Moss, Mark Grant, Dubtribe Sound System, Vincenzo, Ananda Project, Moodymann, and the Rurals, to name a few. But truth be told, once upon a time I was a total goth (yeah don't ask what I was thinking), so I still have a soft spot for bands like the Cure, Soft Cell, Siouxsie, Depeche, Smiths, Morrissey, New Order, Cocteau Twins, Apoptygma Berserk, TKK. I like some of that electroclash stuff too like Fischerspooner and Miss Kittin, and my all time favorite band is the Pixies. Black Francis and Kim Deal. What WERE they thinking when they broke up. Although you gotta admit that Frank Black's "Los Angeles" is quite a track. And some classic/hard rock, I grew up with my older siblings listening to it, so I love Van Halen (Runnin with the Devillllllll), Fleetwood Mac (Stevie Nicks rocks), Def Leopard, etc.
Anything with Gael Garcia Bernal or Johnny Depp. hehehe. Or Edward Norton (he is so super talented). I like documentaries and movies that make me think or are original and risky. Stuff that's not your typical spoon fed Hollywood crap. Among my faves are Ghost World, Fight Club, Amelie, Tape, 13 Conversations About One Thing, Y Tu Mama Tambien, Chocolat, The Shining, Devil's Advocate, The Secretary, Donnie Darko, Edward Scissorhands, Mulholland Drive, Adaptation, Seabiscuit, Run Lola Run, Amores Perros, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, American History X, Lost in Translation, Primal Fear, Finding Neverland, El Crimen del Padre Amaro (Gael is just ridiculously fine).
When I do watch it (which isn't often) IFC, Law & Order, Nature/Wildlife shows, Discovery Channel, Twighlight Zone and X-Files reruns, Will and Grace, Reno 911, 7th Heaven and Everwood (sorry about the last two, they are my guilty pleasures). 7th Heaven is really a great show, though. I mean this family is able to take on any sort of challenge--STDs, drugs, unplanned pregnancy--and the parents and the kids just always get each other and have this amazing line of open communication. It's what every family is not! At least mine wasn't anyway. That's why it's so refreshing. Cheezy and refreshing. And the boy in Everwood is hot.
I don't understand the appeal of reality TV. Why am I going to watch a bunch of uninteresting ego-maniacs in a "reality" that clearly is not because the camera changes everything--I mean where is the art or originality or anything remotely worth my time in it?? Or in watching people eat giant bugs or deciding who is going to be the next AMERICAN IDOL or who should marry your dad!! Like, oh my god!! I don't give a rat's ass about who your dad should or should not marry. They'll be divorced in six months (or hours?) anyway. I might as well set up a lawnchair in front of my neighbor's house with a good view into their living room and drool on myself. I'd get more out of it.
CURRENTLY READING: Drowning Ruth by CHRISTINA SCHWARZ. Recently read titles: Marry Higgins Clark "Remember Me" (OK, I don't watch reality TV, so I gotta get the cheese factor in somehow) and Pat Conroy "Beach Music." I'd read contemporary "literature," but then I'd have to think and stuff. Altho not too long ago I read "The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fist Fight in Heaven" (Sherman Alexie), "Of Love and Other Demons" (Gabriel Garcia Marquez), and Anais Nin stuff "Little Birds" (basically porn, but its Anais Nin, so its ok hahaha) and "The Four-Chambered Heart."
