Joel A. Lucas, the son of a Pentecostal Bishop, grew up in music and ministry in Baltimore, Maryland. From the traditional hymns to the timeless contemporary music of greats such as Comissioned, the Winans, Thomas Whitfield, the Hawkins family, Andre Crouch, Daryl Coley and Vanessa Bell Armstrong, followed gospel music. Today, Joel has a music style that has influences from that of Fred Hammond, Stevie Wonder, Kirk Franklin, and Thomas Whitfield. From that age of 5 Joel discovered his God-given musical skills by playing the drums and a natural ear for music on his mother's piano. Joel's heart is rooted in music ministry, as he currently is the Minister of Music and Praise & Worship leader of Divine Inspiration of God church in Baltimore, Maryland where he walks in the prophetic gift. Joel is also a songwriter and singer. He has assisted in several music projects including NuVision, Lonnie Brown Jr. & Fernando Allen. This project has been in the works for over 4 years. Now, his debut album, Conversations with the Master: Intimate Moments with God, showcases Joel's writing, keyboard playing and mostly his production. Joel says that he chose the title of the album because the theme of all of the songs on this album were conversations between him and God. From trials to triumphs, this album will minister, encourage, uplift and take you into a mode of intimacy with God. From the initial praise message of No Fear, the urban praise of O Taste, to the intimate worship of He that Dwelleth, and the triumphant finale of My Deliverer, this project exhibits the messages of God.Listen and be blessed.
