About a year ago my best friend Charles Emeriling died. We were best friends since we met in the third grade. His folks moved to Clinton, IA. due to a job transfer. His father worked as a car salesmen. We were side by side all the way through high school. After graduation, he went off to do missions with our church group. It took him all over the world helping others and doing Gods work. He made it to (at the time) USSR, Fugi, of course Mexico and more. This was his life. The most giving man I knew. While I was off at college, he was giving his time towards others. I guess God wants His favorites closest to Him, thats why He took him.
I grew up in Clinton Iowa. My childhood was a typical mid western lifestyle. My folks were married shortly after college and started a family. My older sister, younger brother and I grew up all three years apart. Our family has been fortunate to all go to some college of sorts. We range from DDS, to a math teacher, history major and science (me of course).
I am so proud of my sister. She has had a hard life but now she is living for our Lord Jesus Christ. When drugs and an illegitimate child seemed to cover her in darkness, there is always one true way out. We all can live in peace, no matter where we come from.
