I was raised the youngest of a large family and never felt very important - I thought everything that there was to do had already been done by one of my older sisters or brothers. I eventually figured out that was faulty thinking.
The best thing in my young life that brought me out of my "shell" was learning music. I studied accordion for many years and played with an accordion ensemble of 8 teenaged girls who played everything from a fun Boogie Woogie to the William Tell Overture! I studied pipe organ enough to be able to play for Mass and started playing for the gradeschool choir girls when I was 13! My parents were my biggest "fans", I was close to them all their lives.
Music took a back seat for quite a while when I married my sweetheart who decided he was going to marry me in third grade (I didn't know it til we were out of high school!). We will celebrate our 37th wedding anniversary May 6! We promised to spend every anniversary together and have been able to that every year but one - we both had new jobs that year. We raised four sons together and are now looking forward to it being just the two of us. We enjoy each other's company whether we are just sitting here in the same room, each playing on our own laptops, or taking a drive together, or watching a movie or working on a project. We built our house in the woods together when we married and now want to do some more remodeling.
We are active Catholics and wish everyone could feel God's love and peace. I returned to actively playing music when our children were still young - again a children's choir brought me back to playing for Mass! Since then, I have played accordion with a polka choir for Polka Masses and I have played (accordion) with a Spanish Choir and Musicians for Spanish Masses. Currently I am playing pipe organ for an adult choir and for congregational singing. I also play accordion for fun with a small dance band, we get together mostly for our own entertainment but do perform once in a while. I also I play with my friend and former accordion teacher for fun and at retirement homes! It is such an honor to still be able to play accordion with her!
I believe in angels and the fact that we each have our own guardian angel to help and guide us each day. I believe in meditation, prayer, spending time in nature, simplicity, in giving everyone you meet a smile. Sometimes my husband says my middle name is "pollyanna". My glass is usually half-full.
I've enjoyed myspace for a couple years now and have made friends here and had many good experiences.
