Hailing from St.Thomas, Virgin Islands this Reggae Dancehall/HipHop sensation Bad Kat is taking the music scene by storm. He is {V.I. born and raised/ Atl. Grown and Paid} Upon moving to the A-town he started honing his skills back in 1993. After hooking up with friend and music advisor Juan Jefferson ("1J"), the Rudebwoy started gaining recognition with the true local DanceHall fans. Bad Kat's versatile lyryical style has been featured on dub plates by various Sound Systems from V.I., ATL, DC, MIA and all over.
At the same time Bad Kat has opened, and performed alongside many big names in Reggae and HipHop such as: Beenie Man, Gregory Isaacs, Bounty Killer, Terror Fabulous, Elephant Man, Determine, Nadine Sutherland, Lady Saw, Sean Paul, Merciless, Louie Ranking (OX from Belly) Jigsy King, Pinchers, Redman, Too Short, M.F.Doom, Young Jeezy, Micronats, and more.!!!!!!! !In 1996 "Kat" along with "1J' formed an independent record label called ,(Y give haters shine) with a nice roster of up and coming talented Artist that Kat and 1J knew and wanted to be down. In 1997 they went into Patchwerks Recording Studio and recorded then relased a Bad Kat EP. with 5 songs produced by Atl. legend DJ. Mann and 1 of the Baddest Jamaican selector, "Spyda", in which 2 of the songs ("Whosoever" & "Countdown") was featured in The Music Edge (Independent Label cd sampler)vol.4. Also featured on that very same volume was Mr.Colli Park a.k.a. Dj Smurf and Killer Mike. That Bad Kat EP also featured a song with V.I. Reggae Sistren Dezarie. Big Moves was taking place. Club (Y give haters shine) was aquired in Clarkston, GA. right next to the imfamous Strokers. There was Billboards on Memorial Dr., nuff Parties, nuff shows, then the Shady sh** started to show. The Relationship with the outside Business partner and associate had soured due to Lies , Deceit, Jealousy and Envy In 1999 after a brief court battle over Masters that stayed with the rightful owner, Bad Kat parted ways from the label.!!!!!!!!!
At this point Clearly a veteran to the game, Bad Kat formed his own Independent Label, IInfiltrate Intertainment in 2002. In "02" he released his first full length cd. The critically acclaimed Mal Gato Loco. This Dancehall cd featured, 2 songs with V.I. HipHop artist Doolas, and a hidden track with Panama Reggaeton artist Onae. The bulk of the production for the cd was done by Wesu Trax, and also V.I. natives Simba, and Death Zone Productions. It received a great big up by the carribbean massive and was Respected by the American public.
Always a lover of HipHop, Bad Kat is on some different sh*** in which he calls Regg-Hop Music. It is the fusion of Reggae (dancehall) and hip Hop from the streets for the streets. In '04' sampled Regg-Hop on an EP entitled the Rudebwoy EP which had the single Rudebwoy. Now he is poised to drop the Rudebwoy Mixtape vol1. in Jan.'07' featuring 16 joints produced by Suga Bear Productions, Simba, and more.
