When their planet and all inhabitants were about to be destroyed, Jor-El placed me in The Ship, to send me to a good family on the planet Earth where they visited years ago. Though Lara wondered if the people of Earth would accept and love me, Jor-El reassured her that the family he chose would be good to me. i came to Earth during the Meteor Shower of 1989 which struck the community of Smallville, Kansas. i was deployed from Kryton as an infant, but because of the distance from Earth, i appeared to be between two or three when i was found by the Kents, Jonathan and Martha, as Jor-El planned. Unable to have children themselves, the couple adopted me. They named me Clark (Martha's maiden name) and raised me as their son. i knew i was adopted, but did not learn of my true intergalactic origin until age 14 when i confronted Jonathan about my invulnerability and demanded answers.Since the death of my father, i have since dropped out of Central Kansas A&M and currently manage the Kent Farm single-handedly.MY PERSONALITYMost of MY personality traits are the direct result of my modest farm upbringing. i am very close to both of my parents- i am obedient, respectful, and highly value my parents' approval. He has been raised with a strong moral background- i do not like invasions of privacy, i think the bad guys should be punished, and want things to be fair. i am hard-working and usually do not place much value in material posessions. i am idealistic, and have the ability to always find the good in people, which manifests itself into a willingness to trust people, even to a fault. Unsurprisingly, i have a hero complex, often trying to save a life at any and all cost. i have willingly risked my own life to save my loved ones, and have on many occasions offered the Kent home to individuals seeking refuge. (i even slept on the couch for several months while Lois Lane stayed in his room.) i am also very comfortable around children, and take delight in situations where i get to be a big brother figure.At times, i can be impulsive- i often act before thinking things through. Even though my intentions are good, i do not think in advance, and do things without considering the real-world repercussions. i also internalizes situations- everything is my fault, or because of me, or about me. i often feel guilt about things over which i had no control, and do not consider myself a hero because i feel i cause most of the trouble. Because i closely guard my secret, i can sometimes be dishonest. i often makes up lies to explain my sudden presence or absence, or how i have knowledge of mysterious things. Ironically, i also highly value trust in a relationship. i seem slightly less mature than my friends, although this could be the result of his sheltered upbringing. i have been known to excessively whine, mope, or pout, especially about my roller-coaster relationship with Lana Lang.i am afraid of heights, and despite super-speed, i am habitually late. i enjoy playing football and basketball. i like astronomy and journalism.MY ABILITYSExposure to the Sun's rays gives me enhanced abilities that are far beyond normal men. All of my Kryptonian abilities are increased by the solar energy and electromagnetic radiation of the sun. my abilities usually appear suddenly and uncontrollable, and i must learn to regulate them. They seem to get stronger as i get older. Super Strength: i have strength that cannot be matched by any life-form on earth. i can lift the heaviest trucks and machinery or punch through reinforced steel. Most of the time i use my powers to help my father take care of the farm, such as lifting farm equipment or mending a fence by plunging huge logs into the ground. i seemingly had this ability when the Kents found me- Martha once remarked that i busted the dining room table in half when i was three. Jonathan also told Roger Nixon that, as a toddler, i crawled under a 500-pound bed frame, and lifted it off the ground when Jonathan tried to crawl under and get me.Invulnerability: my invulnerability has increased with my age, most likely to a degree that even my parents did not notice. Jonathan was shocked when at age 14, i stuck my arm into a running wood-chipper, and then removed it without harm. At that age, bullets left strong bruises on me, but age 17, they left no mark at all, and i am currently unharmed by bullets fired at point-blank range. i am also able to survive extreme temperatures and can barely feel the heat of an explosion. If i am wounded due to the presence of Green Kryptonite, i heal automatically once it is removed. If it is a severe wound, i might remain unconscious for several hours, but wake up fully-recovered.Super Speed: i can run at speeds faster than the eye can see. i am able to run from Kansas to Honduras in only a few seconds, and often make the trip from Smallville to Metropolis almost instantly. From a story i tell mom in Transference, it can be assumed that i developed this ability at age six.Heat Vision: i have the power to focus solar energy and project it as heat rays from my eyes by shifting my optic lens. i can cause objects to combust or melt. i can also project force with my heat vision. This power was first manifested at the age of 15.X-Ray Vision: Much like my heat vision, only instead of projecting solar energy, i can transmit an electromagnetic pulse and absorb it, thus making a mental picture with the pulse. i can see through any solid object except for lead, and can also see energy patterns of radiated substances. i developed this ability at age 14 shortly after starting high school.Super Hearing: i developed this ability after a period of temporary blindness around age 16. i can hear both sides of telephone conversations from several yards away, or even through rooms, and while in my loft, can hear my parents talking in the house.Super Breath: At age 19, i did not have my powers in the Phantom Zone, and, upon returning to Earth, developed a head cold, which manifested itself as super-strength sneezes, which could blow doors off their hinges. i use my new power to put out a warehouse fire and blow clouds away.Flight: At age 14, i once floated above my bed, but could not control it or perform it again. i stated that while caught in the funnel cloud of a tornado, i could propel myself in a certain direction. At age 19, while Kal-El can actually fly, i cannot. However, i can jump very high.i have also had precognitive dreams. i am also capable of hearing a high pitched whining sound when Kryptonian technology is near enough to call to me.MY VULNERABILITYSGreen Kryptonite renders me powerless and painfully incapacitated; i once remarked that broken ribs hurt less than Green K exposure. i can draw blood or bruise after being struck or scratched with Green K. Prolonged exposure would probably kill me. Since the Meteor Shower, it is found in abundance in Smallville, and i have fallen ill or passed out from ingestion, inhalation, and close proximity to Green K. my weakness to Green Kryptonite started at least as early as grade school; however, i did not figure out the connection with the meteor rocks until my teens, saying i am "allergic" to them. Red Kryptonite makes me lose my inhibitions and social conscience. Similar to the effects of alcohol, i become unpredictable and belligerent. On Red K, i am also sexually aggressive, flirtatious, and unconcerned with keeping my abilities a secret. i am disrespectful, uncaring of others' feelings, and can become violently dangerous. i also rarely uses profanity except when on Red K. Silver Kryptonite makes me extremely paranoid and suspicious of those around me. Silver K's effects are similar to those of hallucinogenic drugs. In addition to erratic behavior, and seeing and hearing things that are not there, i also manifest physical symptoms such as sweating, labored breathing, and puffy, dialated eyes. Black Kryptonite can separate or combine me from my Kryptonian personality, Kal-El. Black K seemingly works on humans, as well. Although most metahumans receive strange powers from Green Kryptonite, my vulnerability or immunity towards them seems to be random and arbitrary. For instance, i was immune to Chloe Sullivan's truth-telling abilities and Ryan James's mind reading, but was able to be possessed by Dawn Stiles, had my memory wiped by Kevin Grady, and Jordan Cross saw my future. i was also vulnerable to the magical abilities of Isobel Theroux and Mikhail Mxyzptlk, and the psionic abilities of Simone's hypnotic gemstone. i am also vulnerable to the various intergalactic creatures from the Phantom Zone.Myspace Layouts - Myspace Editor
