About Me
First off, let me start by "covering my ass" a little bit on these recordings. Here's how it happened..... I was sitting around on a cold Thursday morning, watching the clouds roll in, but not just any clouds. Clouds that were carrying about 10 inches of ice and snow. I automatically assumed I was going to be stuck at home for a couple of days at least...(being that I live at the bottom of a steep hill at the end of a dead end road). I thought,"what in the world could keep me busy all weekend stuck in a room"?? So I ran up to see my good friends at Glory Days Music store, borrowed an 8 track digital recorder and headed home. I had no idea how to work it, so the first day was mostly trial and error. By the third day, I couldent feel my ass from sitting on my makeshift drumseat..( a cooler sitting up on its edge). Now the natural inclination would be to record just a few songs with as few instruments as possible,,, but me, no no no, I wanted 10 songs with all instruments. By the 5th day, I was ready to shove an instrument cable into my eyeball. It was intense, but i think it was worth it. For all of you that know anything about recording equipment,, it was a TASCAM.... I have 2 Shure pg58's, a 200 dollar drumset, a Squier bass with no bass equipment, an acoustic with no electronics, and radio shack headphones. Ouch... So, it was a little tougher than I imagined... And also. I played all the instruments on these tracks... Im not really a drummer, or a bass player. I really love these tunes with all my heart, so when I listen to them, it still makes me happy.. even though the quality of the recording is comperable to buying a frozen precooked cheeseburger from dollar general. I hope you enjoy, and are able to look past the quality. I am also looking for bandmates, I would really like to start playing shows. So if you are interested, or know sombody who is, please contact me with that information.
I am scheduled to record at an actual studio in the near future. I think that will bring out a better representation of my music style. Alot of my songs are a little heavier, unfortunatley, I just couldent pull them off with the 8 track in my room. In the words of John Mayer " Id like to think the best of me, is still hidin up my sleeve".
