Influences: A great influence is Dr. John Turner from Jink and Diddle School of Scottish Fiddling. www.jinkdiddle.com. He is our mentor and dear friend. About everything we know Scottish -wise has been taught by him. We have attended the Jink and Diddle summer school for years now and would recommend it to everyone interested in pursuing traditional music. Dr. John Turner is 10 times National Scottish Fiddling Champion and an adjudicator with Scottish Fire. Other influences "are my days at "Monti's Music Center" as a young teenager, about 100 years ago!". (says Deb) The greatest influence is the passion that Jesus gave to us when we first met Him as Savior, and continue to walk with Him now.
Sounds Like: Traditional Scottish fiddling to me! Dawn Wolf writes all the "country" songs because she has "got it in her soul"! She can't help it. ^_^ Deb Johnson writes much of the "ballad" style and Maranatha and Joanna make it all really "Celtic". "We'd be nothing without them...right Dawn?" "Yeah..but wait...we made them who they are". "Now they're going off to college and leaving us high and dry!" "Nope, they promised to come home for gigs...it's in the fine print of my motherhood contract!" ACTUALLY...MPK SOUNDS LIKE MPK!
