Sounds Like: ABOUT DJ DEUS:
Joined the Supernatural Turntable Artists (STA) in 1996 and proved his membership worthy by winning and placing in many local and major DJ competitions. This local Bay Area group performed at many shows across California and entered a lot of the local and national DJ battles. STA members included Streak, Relm, Swift Rock, Deus and Doc Rice. STA disbanded in 2000 so that its members could focus on individual efforts. Deus continued his love of turntable music by performing at events from 2000 to the present time. He has opened up for all sorts of acts like the Invisibl Skratch Piklz, Mixmaster Mike, The CUF, Addict Merchant just to name a few. His experience in the battle scene has also lead him to be requested as a judge at several well established battle circuits such as DMC USA. He had a guest appearance in the movie Deus Ex Machina" - a film produced by Rob Fatal. His influence has touched many DJs across the globe - his primary goal as being a scratch musician. Deus got married, moved into a new home and is now a proud dad as well. With his domestic affairs all in order, he has decided to step back into the competition/showcase scene. STA was revived and its current members are Deus, 8-Ball, Streak & Kid Dee. Deus recently won the Pepsi QQuest Finals held at Recombiant Media Labs on December 9th, alongside his fellow team members Primo and Mr. B of 4OneFunk. Tour dates coming soon........

Background:
I've been spinning records ever since 1984 of all genres. I started off spinning a lot of 80s, then New Wave, freestyle, hip hop, R&B. I am a B-Boy at heart, with my first element being breaking. I then got into graffiti and even did a little bit of emceeing (I sucked at emceeing, BTW). After getting into too much trouble with graffiti, I turned to the turntables full time. I was a part of the whole mobile DJ culture in San Francisco until about 1991, when I met Q-bert and bought some battle tapes off of him. I was always experimenting with scratching and followed the whole history. But Q-bert pretty much introduced me to the advanced styles of scratching and exposed me to the whole battle scene. That's when I got hooked. I was pretty much a bedroom DJ until 1996, then met with members of what eventually became STA (Supernatural Turntable Artists). My sister, the Mixtress, also got into DJing and became very successful. I inherited a famous DJ as a brother in law last year as well. Mr. 8-Ball was one of my influences and motivation to compete. The rest, is history.......
