- Gli Ephedra nascono a Messina in una calda estate di 5 anni fa con l' intento di portare avanti un progetto musicale originale in un panorama cittadino già saturo di coverband. Decidono così di creare brani inediti senza limiti e senza preclusione di generi.
L' unione di queste menti porta ad una sorta di Rock-Pop, ribattezzato dagli aficionados del gruppo "Emo-Pop" anche se non riescono a identificarsi esclusivamente in un solo genere. Il loro intento, infatti, è trasportare l' ascoltatore attraverso atmosfere schiette e allo stesso tempo cariche di "pathos", cercando sempre la via dell'emozione e mai della banalità .
Il loro è un suono urbano che rispecchia la città , i suoi angoli piu' bui e i suoi spazi piu aperti e ricchi di luce, il tutto intriso di una sana dose di passione e amore sia per la musica stessa che per lo stare insieme. Considerano infatti la musica il mezzo migliore per comunicare e esprimere se stessi senza veli. Suonano in giro per i locali, affermandosi piano piano e abbattendo, non senza difficoltà , nel loro piccolo, il muro dell' indifferenza verso qualcosa di nuovo che non sia un brano già conosciuto, sentito e risentito.
Così, nel 2003, aprono il concerto di Yoshi Akai Tormento (Sottotono). Nel 2004 partecipano alla manifestazione a scopo benefico "Telethon". Nell' agosto 2006 vincono il premio "Miglior Performance" nel concorso "Radio Zenith Music Fest", inserito nel programma estivo messinese, "Messina Music Fest", confrontandosi con piu' di 20 band rappresentanti il territorio messinese. Partecipano inoltre come ospiti a numerose trasmissioni radiofoniche di emittenti locali (dove le loro canzoni riscuotono un ottimo consenso).
Il gruppo è composto da 4 elementi: Francesco Algeri (chitarra), Giovanni Amato (Voce/chitarra), Angelo Cincotta (batteria), Fabrizio Lo Giudice (basso) con l' inserimento in sede "live" di un quinto elemento alle tastiere & loop programming.

- Ephedra was born in Messina during a hot summer about 5 years ago with the purpose to carry on an original musical project in the panorama of a city full of coverbands. So Ephedra members decided to create unreleased tracks without limits and genres foreclosures.
Their minds union brings to a sort of Rock-Pop, rebaptized "Emo-Pop" by the band "afecionados" even if the band isn't able to identify himself in only one musical genre. Infact the aim is to transport the listener through pure atmospheres and full of "pathos" at the same time, always searching the way of emotion and never of banality. The sound is an urban sound that reflect the city,his darkest places and his open spaces full of light, everything soaked in a sound dose of passion and love for music. The Music is infact considered by the band as the best way to communicate and to express feelings without veils. Ephedra plays in different venues, gaining succes little by little, knocking down with some difficulties the wall of indifference for unreleased tracks never heard before. So,in 2003, Ephedra opens the concert for Yoshi Akai Tormento (Sottotono). In 2004 takes part in "Telethon" beneficent manifestation. In August 2006 wins "Best Performance" award "Radio Zenith Music Fest" contest, included in Messina Summer program, "Messina Music Fest", comparing themselves with more than 20 bands representing Messina territory. Ephedra members take part as guests in several local broadcasts and their songs earn a lot of praise.
