Welcome to my world, I am J. Harrell. Music
is the air that I breathe. I enjoy creating and
performing a plethora of music. Born as
James Henry Harrell in Richmond, Virginia, I
was destined to be in the music business.
Whether it’s in the church, the club, or on the
street, whenever I have the privilege to
entertain the response is always the same,
“An Exceptionally Talented Musicianâ€.Music is the expression of the human soul.
My desire is to bring positivity back into today’
s music. Currently, I am working with STL
Productions, LLC producing a new sound
that would impact every segment of music,
from Jazz to Hip-Hop, R & B to Gospel. My
goal is to release several singles covering
more then just one genre of music.I started playing the piano at age 4, by the
time I was 11 my mother began setting up
free concerts at homeless shelters and
churches. She instilled in me that this gift
was a gift from God and I must use it to bless
others. I was invited to attend a workshop
with John P. Kee at age 13. At age 18 I
moved to Atlanta, Ga and began to earn a
living with my music. I played wherever my
music took me, on the street, in the clubs, or
in the churches. I have played on the same
venues as B.B. King, Percy Sledge and
William Bell. I have had the privilege to play
keyboard with Kenny Neal. I have traveled
with and played for Chick Wills, Archie Bell,
Pricilla Price and Roy Roberts.Everyday I am in the studio working on my
singles creating that new world of music,
desiring to inspire. I am like a fish out of
water when I am not making music. I agree
with my mother whole heartily that I must
bless others with this gift God has given me;
it is my purpose for this life.
