Currently touring with Canadian blues guitarist Shawn Kellerman, Joseph continues to strive to work at the highest level possible as an accomplished musician and recording artist.As a child Joseph was inspired early by jazz, soul and classical music recordings that he heard in and around his home. He took that passion and applied it to education. Beginning at the age of eight, Joseph’s aptitude and understanding of music history and theory just added to his natural ability to perform. With studies at Blue Lake Music Camp and Interlochen National Music Camp, Joseph became an outstanding classical upright bassist for his age, earning him positions in both, the Michigan Youth Symphony and the Saginaw Symphony respectively. Joseph continued with studies at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI and Jazz studies at the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago, IL. There he applied his accumulated experienced to bass guitar and immersed himself in the Chicago music scene, most significantly, the blues scene!Over the years Joseph has honed his groove stylings on stage nationally with many blues, soul, funk and top 40 bands. Such as blues artists Shawn Kellerman, Lucky Peterson, Sherman Robertson, Debra Coleman, James Armstrong or top 40 bands such as Attraction or 5 Guys named Moe to name a few. Joseph displays an energetic and high-energy stage presence and always delivers his signature bottom end grooves that you feel from your head to your toes.Joseph’s passion for music is only matched by his deep love for his family. A father of four children, Joseph’s deep commitment to his faith is something that helps keep his family and his career balanced and focused.
