About Me

Deviant-dancefloor.com was launched in July 2004. At that time deviant-dancefloor was a "non-capitalist record label". Over three years, the label has released an album, an EP and a compilation. Fifty copies of each release have been burnt and distributed for free. The listeners were encouraged to burn their own private copy, pass the original to one another and leave a comment on the website so that anybody could know what was hapenning to the records. It would work quite the same way Bookcrossing does... but never really worked.
The label then became a netlabel, in order to survive. Music is now made available for free as online releases (hi-quality mp3 files and original artwork that's worth being seen on a computer screen), cheap CDR's may also be sold one day. Deviant-dancefloor aims at creating a worldwide music community, encouraging underground artists to collaborate and make their music available to a large audience. All styles of music are welcome, from ambient to noise, classical to rock'n'roll, techno to breakcore, folk to jazz, dub to dancehall... deviant-dancefloor's output is designed for music lovers without borders.
Since the beginning, Tosaka (DJ/producer) has run the label with the will to keep control over his work and promote artists he likes. Deviant-dancefloor can be considered a playground more than a record label.
