I'm a freelance saxophone/clarinet player, composer and teacher from north London. Afrobeat/Afrofunk 12-piece Afrik Bawantu .... Chris Elcombe's flamenco-tango-montuno-free improv-groove heavy Hispanica .... Club Do Choro , playing chorinho which is instrumental music which originated in late-nineteenth century Rio.... percussion with Rhythms of the City (part of the F-IRE collective) performing Rio-style carnival samba, samba-reggae, funk and more.... groove-jazz-gospel-ish choir the London Vocal Project....
About the tracks you're listening to... Sway is by me, played with Soma. Mindiatyr is played with friends from Guildhall where I studied, it's a Bobo Stenson tune which Mishka wrote words for. Arthur's Point is a tune by Joe played with Soma. Outra Vez is a Jobim tune dismantled and rearranged by Chris Elcombe and played by Hispanica. Queen and Soldier is taken from a live performance by Spin Allowed, a project which combines elements of contemporary jazz improvisation with Indian classical dance rhythms and dancers.
