Band Members: The Eelpout Stringers, all doo-died up and lookin' nice for the Minnesota Historical Society's 2009, "9 Days of Music" summer concert in the 3M auditorium. Most of our "early Americana" music is based on true stories. We didn't realize how many folks love to hear 'em (as well as the music). This crowd was REALLY into Americana!
The Eelpout Stringers recorded live at the '09 Leprechaun Days Bluegrass Festival in Rosemount, MN. Nick (Fiddlin' Fin) Rowse does the clogging to The Yellow Rose of Texas.
The Eelpout Stringers recorded live at the '09 Leprechaun Days Bluegrass Festival in Rosemount, MN. Nick (Fiddlin' Fin) Rowse, Loyd (Keeper) Mitchell, Karl (Gil) Burke and Craig (Bullhead) Evans open up the event with Johnny, Don't Get Drunk.
Don't miss the Eelpout Stringer's lastest EXCELLENT ADVENTURE - REDUX at the '08 Eelpout Festival! See top BLOG (look for the REDUX).
On guitar, the least hairy of the crew, clean-cut poster boy, Loyd.
Third hairiest is bass player, Karl. He really cleans up nice, too.
Then there's Nick. This spry young guy ran a marathon on his 50th birthday. Impressive!
Then there's the big, hairy fish himself, me (Craig).
Influences: Oh, we like a lotta stuff; Old-time Kentucky fiddle, Irish jigs and reels, Civil war ballads, Red Clay Ramblers, Big Medicine, Foghorn and Unca' Dave Macon right up to Rhys Jones and Gillian Welch. We like to play the stuff that gets your toe a-tappin or croon ballads with lyrics that touch your soul.
Yep. We kinda' like it all.
Sounds Like: ... the happiest music you ever heard! You WILL want to buy a CD (repeat that phrase 3X).
