Women Empowering Women and Girls Through The Arts

About Me

Women Empowering Women and Girls Through The Arts was born out of a desire to help women and girls with life issues through the arts. In 1994, I had a still born daughter, Amirah and from that experience, I wrote a play "This Bitter Cup". The play was produced at Howard University and was well received. Quite a few people came up to me and told me that they had similiar experience with losing a child. So, I decided to start a support group for women of color to help them with their grieving. From that, Women Empowering Women and Girls was born and we're now starting a program to help victims of domestic violence.
