"Station 53" was the name given to the site of a top secret military base in Aylesbury Bucks, back in the 2nd world war. It was at this site that the "enigma" code was broken which led to us winning the war and is the reason we dont speak German! A number of years later, the site was decommissioned and became HMP Springhill. Station 53 - the Band - all met at different points throughout thier prison sentences and ,brought together through the hardship of jail, a Musical conception was made. From a wide range of musical backgrounds the band has gone from a romantic idea to the real deal, with studio tracks and live performaces in the pipeline. The sound is big bad and heavy and ranges from reggae to scar to Hip Hop through rock and onto drum & Bass...so theres definitly something for everybody. Watch this Myspace for more details.Moving on to myself, I'm a DJ/Songwriter based in Northampton. Been DJ'ing for about 13 years and have always maintained a strict D&B music policy. I'm into all forms of the genre, from the dancefloor bangers of artists such as Andy C, Sub Focus & Twisted Individual - to the more sublime sounds of calibre and Alix Pirez. I'm currently running a monthly event at Revolution in Northampton, with the emphasis being on promoting new talent and giving people a taste of things to come. A Name to look out for is Mr. T-Phonic, who'll be playing the last set on the night, check out "My Friends" for more details on him. I'm into a wide range of music aside from D&B, playing the guitar myself, i feel it's essential to draw influences from as many genres as possible.
