The Penht was one of the most promising young bands from Sweden in the beginning of the new millennium. Their adrenaline-pumped shows never left anyone untouched. The Penht were quite influenced by the British mod scene of the 1960's. On stage they had a 60's dress code, the wild animal Larra on vocals ('even crazier than Iggy Pop'), vintage instruments and an attitude even a world famous rock act would envy.
The Penht were formed in 1996 by Tobias, Erik and Henrik. After a while Nicklas and Larra joined the band. Nicklas quit the band in early '98, and was later to be 'replaced' by Johan. A year later they had evolved into such a kick-ass rock act, Nicklas decided to re-join the band. Many gigs followed and after appearing on a ZTV show, they signed a record deal with EMI. They made a Swedish tour opening for Supergrass in Malmö, Gothenburg and Stockholm and released an E.P. in 2000. However, the members wanted to do other things and the band eventually disbanded in late 2001.
Today, some of the members are playing with the Lips . Larra turned out doing something completely different, now playing with the Swedish dance band Date .
