Ras Indian was born on the island of Mauritius, growing up in the inner city of Paris.

His recording career started as Quincy Roots started in 1990 with "AFRICA FOR AFRICANS" with the group Demomocrats D with Hip Hop producer Timour, other recordings with Timour include "Progresse" in the same year.

Moving to the Uk in 1993 he continued recording while working on African Ship Sound playing in the Roots Cup in 1997.

ringing on the roots market.
Recent recordings for Patate Records in France, Universal Roots are set for release in 2008 while working on his album with Sirius Records from which release can be expected in the not too distant future.
